How to listen to God

In a world with so many things competing for our attention and focus, God's people have been challenged to priorities one voice over all others.

"Whoever has ears, let them hear what the spirit say to the churches" (Revelations 3:22)

How can we discern God's voice and let him be the one who shapes our vision admits the distractions of the world?

Here are five practice's that may help you.

1. Read - Read the bible. This is the first place God communicates with us. The more you read the more you will hear God

2. Listen - I love walking - This is the best way for me to pray. While walking I will pray to God and it give me the freedom to talk to while walking. Sometimes I will download video of Steve Furtick and listen to him as I walk. That brings me much closer to God.

3. Think - God gave us a mind and he often guides us through our mind and through reasoning us to get through the problem we are facing

4. Talk - " Better is open rebuke than hidden love" (Prov 27:5) Talk to people God has placed on your life. God speak to us through the community of the Church.

5. Watch - God is in control of the universe. We don't always understand what is God's plan with but be have the comfort of knowing He is in control. Trust God judgement and see that He will to you to placed you never dreamed of.

Isaiah 61 - The sprit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.
